FAQ
Common
questions.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask on a 20-minute call.
Are these website templates really free?+
Yes. Every template is free for personal and commercial use, including websites you build for clients. You can edit it, rebrand it and host it anywhere. The only thing you cannot do is resell or redistribute the template itself as a template. A credit link to axionry.com is appreciated, never required.
How do I edit a template?+
Unzip the download and open index.html in any code editor. The text, colours and images are plain HTML and CSS, and the animations are vanilla JavaScript in the same file, with no framework and no build step. Save the file, refresh the browser and you see the change.
Where can I host a free template?+
Anywhere that serves static files: Netlify, Vercel, Cloudflare Pages, GitHub Pages, an S3 bucket or ordinary shared hosting. Upload the folder, point your domain at it and it works. There is no server or database to run, so hosting is usually free or close to it.
How much does it cost to have a template customised?+
Having a template customised with your brand, copy, photos and video, plus your forms, booking, WhatsApp and analytics, then launched on your domain, starts from $1,000. A fully custom design starts from $2,500. Exact pricing is always decided once we connect, and it is fixed in writing before any work starts.
How does the scroll video effect work?+
The film is exported as a sequence of compressed still frames. As the visitor scrolls, a small script works out how far through the section they are and draws the matching frame on a canvas, so the scroll bar becomes the playhead. It is the same technique Apple uses on its product pages, with no video player involved.
Do I need to know how to code?+
Changing text, colours and images takes basic HTML, and every section is clearly separated in the file. For anything bigger, such as new pages, a CMS, a booking system or a store, we can customise it for you and have it live on your domain within a week.
