Our story

Six tables, one grill and the morning catch

Harbor & Salt began in 2009 as six tables and a charcoal grill at the very end of Molo Vecchio.

Chef Chiara Bellandi still walks to the fish market at five every morning. Whatever the boats bring back decides the menu, so it changes daily and never lasts longer than it should. Everything else is simple on purpose: good olive oil, lemons from the hills behind town, salt raked from the flats down the coast.

The sea bream arrived still crackling from the grill and the sun went down right on cue. We stayed three hours and nobody rushed us once.

I have come back every summer since 2014. The vongole has not changed once in all that time, and I really hope it never does.

We booked for our anniversary. They remembered, moved us to the window table and sent out two glasses of something cold and bubbly.
